21 Years of Mazes

21 Years of Corn Maze Magic – All Homegrown, All Ours

Around here, we don’t just grow corn—we carve memories into it.  For 21 seasons now, we’ve been dreamin’ up and cuttin’ out our very own corn mazes, right here on the ranch.  While a lot of agri-tainers hire out their maze design & maze cutting, we’ve been doin’ it ourselves from the very start—and we’re mighty proud of that.

Way back when, we started with good ol’ graph paper—each line representin’ a row of corn—and used that as our guide to mow paths through the growing corn to reveal our design.  These days, we’ve traded pencils for precision and use a John Deere Land Pro GPS system attached to our zero-turn mower to help bring our designs to life. It still takes us about a week and a half to fully cut out the maze, plus a couple rounds of mowing to get it just right before the season kicks off.

It Takes a Village (and a Whole Lotta Corn)
We couldn’t bring our maze to life each year without a couple of real special folks who help make the magic happen. Morgan Ligo works side-by-side with John to dream up a maze design that fits our theme just right—she’s got a sharp eye and a creative mind, and we’re sure glad to have her on the team.
And we can’t forget our good neighbor Billy—he’s the one behind the scenes (or should we say, behind the rows), planting our corn each season with care and know-how. Without Billy, there’d be no maze to mow!
Around here, we’re big believers in doin’ things ourselves—but we never do it alone. We’re grateful for the hands and hearts that help us grow, year after year.

Scroll through the photos below to see all 21 seasons of maze masterpieces—we’ve come a long way, but every twist and turn is still cut with care, by our own hands, right here on the ranch.
